Mortality is Surrender, Prioritizing is Grief
Oliver Burkeman talks about this a lot in 4000 Weeks. Time is finite and we must surrender those things we will never get to. Cutting things is killing the selves you'll never be, and it's right to grieve.
Supermemo follows this principle as well with the priority queue. It's impossible to learn everything, so focus on a few things.
