Separating out tasks (planning vs execution) leads to less stress and decision fatigue.
There was a Click where the two characters approached building a birdhouse in two different ways. Click the mouse was just flying by the seat of his pants, but the raccoon girl started by doing a blueprint and doing all the hard thinking about design first, then all she had to do was build to the blueprint. This framework can work for so many areas. Smart Notes talks about this. You want to separate out thinking work from building work.
Decision fatigue can be reduced by putting on blinders.
