薄れゆく記憶の中で 突然思い出したようにおばあちゃん 昔よく言ってたみたいに
「今日は泊まってゆくの？」と私に聞いてみた後に
「隣の部屋に布団をしいたから」と言って笑った
いつも私をさすった手の感触 私は覚えてる
いいよ名前を忘れたくらい 私が覚えてる
「どこか行きたいとこはない？」そう尋ねた私に空を
見ながら言った「どこもないよ。もうどこにも行かないよ」
たくさん行った 想い出の場所たち 私は覚えてる
空を見ながら 探していたんだね おじいちゃんのことを
薄れゆく記憶の中で 突然思い出したように
「おじいちゃんは？」そう言って また空を見上げてた
おばあちゃん 会えたかな ずっと会いたかったんだよね

Sora wo minagara sagashiteita n da ne ojii-chan no koto wo
Usureyuku kioku no naka de totsuzen omoidashita you ni
"Ojii-chan wa?" sou itte mata sora wo miageteta
Obaa-chan aeta ka na zutto aitakatta n da yo ne
Grandma
In my fading memories, I suddenly rememberHow Grandma used to say,
"Are you spending the night tonight?" and then she said,
"Because I spread out a futon for you in the next room," smiling.
I remember the sensation of her hands, patting my head,
I remember so much I've forgotten the name for it.
"Is there anywhere you'd like to go?" I would ask, and she'd look
Up at the sky, saying, "No. I'm not going anywhere."
I remember, we went to the places in my memory so many times.
She looked at the sky and looked for Grandpa.
In my fading memories, I suddenly remember how she used to say
"Where's Grandpa?" while looking at the sky once more.
Grandma, I wonder if you were able to meet him. You wanted to see him for so long, didn't you?
